Overview
You can use this process to update or review your benefits during Open Enrollment.
Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review current benefit elections and make any changes for the upcoming calendar year. All updates will take effect January 1. A summary of what actions are allowed for each benefit is provided within the table below.
If you are satisfied with your current elections, no action is required.

Medical, Dental, Vision | Enroll, waive, change plan(s), add/remove dependents | If you previously elected a benefit and do not want to make changes, simply leave it as is. |
Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Care, Dependent Care) | Enroll, designate monthly contribution amount | Benefit is defaulted to Waive. You must Enroll to elect the contribution amount. |
Voluntary Term Life (Employee, Spouse, Child) | Enroll, waive, or change amount for employee or spouse | Employees can increase amount for themselves or a spouse by $20,000 without evidence of good health. |
Tax-Deferred Annuity (TDA) | Enroll, waive, or change monthly contribution amount | TDAs can be changed at any time during the year but is also included in Open Enrollment. |

Support
If you do not wish to make changes during Open Enrollment, no action is required. However, you will continue to receive reminders from the UNI Works system.
To stop receiving reminders, you may:
Click Let’s Get Started.
Select Review and Sign.
Check I accept.
Click Submit to close the event with no changes.
Step 1: Open the Workday App on your mobile device.
Step 2: Click the My Tasks icon, then click the Change Benefits for Open Enrollment task.
Step 3: Click the Let's Get Started button.
Warning
The system message “Choose new plans or re-enroll in the plans you currently have” cannot be modified. Please note: UNI employees are not required to re-enroll in any plans except Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
Step 4: Click the down arrow icon to review Enrollment Instructions.
Step 5: Click Manage button or Enroll button (5a) to make changes to any benefit, then select the desired plan (5b).
Step 6: Choose Select or Waive by clicking the toggle button next to the benefit plan. Then iPhone users click Done and Android users click the arrow icon.
Reminder
Select means you are enrolling in a plan.
Waive means you are choosing NOT to enroll in a plan.
Step 7: Click the Confirm and Continue button.
Step 8: Adding dependent(s) to your Medical/RX, Dental, or Vision plan. If you do not need to add dependents, skip to Step 9. Otherwise, complete Steps 8.1-8.5 for adding new dependents.

If the dependent(s) you would like to add are already listed, click the tile with their name (8a). Check the Select box, then iPhone users click Done and Android users click the arrow icon (8b).
Step 8.1: For new dependents, click the Add New Dependent button.
Step 8.2: The Create Dependent button is selected by default. If you would like to use the new dependent as a beneficiary, check the box next to Use as Beneficiary.
Step 8.3: iPhone users click Next. Android users click the arrow icon.
Step 8.4: Fill out all required fields (*) for the dependent. Click the Add New button to add National ID's (social security numbers).
Warning
Only choose Full-Time Student if the dependent is an unmarried, full-time student, who is older than age 26.
Step 8.5: Click the Save button. Repeat Steps 7.1-7.5 to add additional dependents.
Step 9: After all changes have been made, click the Review and Sign button.
Step 10: Review your selection(s) for Selected Benefits and Waived Benefits to ensure this is accurate.
Step 11: Click the Add Attachments icon to attach any required documentation for dependent verification.
Support
If you have not yet verified your dependents, a task will appear in your inbox requiring you to submit dependent verification. Please follow the task instructions or refer to Verifying Dependents for Benefits Job Aid for guidance on submitting the required documentation.
If you prefer not to attach/upload your document(s) into UNI Works, you can bring the documentation into the Human Resource Services Office (GIL 027).
Step 12: Click View More to read the Legal Notice.
Step 13: Check the I Accept box, then click the Submit button. The Benefits team will review and approve your submission.
View the Status of the Request
All Open Enrollment requests will stay in submitted status until November 30. On December 1, all requests will be finalized and closed.
Step 1: Click the down arrow icon next to My Tasks, then click Completed Tasks.
Step 2: Locate and click the Change Benefits for Open Enrollment task to view.
