2025R2 Highlights

Absence Calendar Changes

These improvements are designed to provide you with the information you need quickly and easily while reducing the need to navigate to several different pages.

Mobile Alignment

The Workday mobile app has been updated to mirror the desktop functionality more closely providing a more consistent experience across devices. In addition to time off, leaves of absence can now be viewed and requested directly from the Absence calendar worklet.

Request Absence

This worklet replaces “Absence” in the Desktop Menu and allows users to initiate absence requests through a convenient micro calendar.

  • From the micro calendar users can request time off and leaves of absence, view their balances, view team absences, and edit or cancel requests.

  • When submitting a new absence request, you'll now see both the Available Balance and the Remaining Balance dynamically calculated which provides immediate clarity on how your request will impact your overall time off.

  • Managers can also access “Request on Behalf of” from their own micro calendar to submit absences for their team members.

Manage Absence

This worklet in the Desktop menu provides quick access to your absence calendar, interactive balance details, and absence request history. It also provides an easy way to make changes to your absences on the calendar.

  • The term ‘Edit’ now replaces the term ‘Correct’ for absence requests but still allows you to make changes to the time off type, days, units, position, and reason for an approved time off request on desktop and mobile.

  • The Actions dropdown allows you to access essential tasks directly within the calendar. This includes the option to navigate to Time Tracking through Enter My Time or Enter Time for Worker tasks.

  • Managers also gain a convenient "Switch Worker" button which enables them to easily submit absence requests for their team without the need to navigate to individual profiles.

    • The Actions dropdown also provides managers a quick link to the Team Absence Calendar.

Team Absence Calendar

This application replaces the Time Off and Leave Calendar for Managers

  • Managers can view their team’s in-progress and approved absences as well as edit or cancel absences directly from the Team Absence Calendar.

More detailed information about these changes can be found in the Absence Requests and Managers: Manage Team Absences job aids.

Pay Worklet Deprecation

Workday plans to retire the Pay Worklet and replace it with the Benefits and Pay Hub. The Benefits and Pay Hub now provides a single location for employees to conveniently review and maintain their benefits, compensation, and payroll information.

Mobile Alignment

With this change, Workday Desktop will mirror the desktop functionality providing a more consistent experience across devices.

More detailed information about this changes can be found in the Pay Overview job aids for Employees.
