Support
For compensation adjustments that have a performance component associated with the compensation change, the performance review rating will also appear on the statement for reference. This would include Merit staff (only for the merit increase previously referred to as a "step increase") as well as faculty and P&S staff. For questions regarding the compensation statement, please email hrs-employment@uni.edu.

Compensation Review Statement Examples

Compensation Review Statements for eligible employees display on the effective date of annual increase processes. The content of statements may vary based on the types of pay components included for each employee group. The statement examples and explanatory notes below are for increase processes prior to August 1, 2025 and the layout was determined by Workday. For increase processes August 1, 2025 and after, UNI introduced a simpler, custom compensation statement.

Merit Staff

Notes

1 – Merit staff pay increases are Across the Board and effective with the pay period start date for the July payroll.

2 - The “Target %” column is Workday delivered and can be disregarded. It will typically match the “% Increase” unless the staff member is part-time.

P&S Staff

Notes

1 – The “Increase Details” section is the merit (performance) pay increase component. ”Old Base Pay” reflects pay as of 6/30/25. “New Base Pay” reflects pay after only the performance pay increase component.

2 – The “Other Awards” section reflects the base pay after the Across The Board pay increase component has been applied. The base pay listed in the “Amount” field is the new FY ‘26 base pay.

3 – The “Target %” is Workday delivered and can be disregarded. It will typically match the “% Increase” unless the staff member is part-time.

4 – The “% Increase” reflected in this across the board row of the delivered statement is not displaying correctly. While the “% Increase” displayed may show slightly less than 1%, all eligible staff will receive the 1% across the board portion of the increase. To illustrate using the example above: $51,500.00-$51,000.00 = $500 / $50,000.00 = 1.00%.

Additional notes:

  • If the P&S staff member did not have an annual performance review rating in UNI Works by 5/21/25, the performance review rating will not appear on this statement.

  • If the staff member’s pay is already above their pay grade maximum or they have an overall performance review rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory, they are not eligible for a pay adjustment. A statement will still be available but no pay change will be reflected on the statement.

  • P&S staff who are non-exempt and paid on an hourly basis will see their pay components reflected as an hourly rate.

  • P&S staff hired April 1, 2025 or after are not eligible for this year’s fiscal year pay increase and will not have a compensation statement.
