Step 8: The business process is now complete, there is no additional action needed until there is an update to the goal.
Add Goal to Employees
Step 1: Managers have the ability to add goals to employees. In the Workday search bar, enter "Add Goal to Employees".
Step 2: A box will appear asking for information on goals and employees.
Select "Create New Goal" or "Copy Existing Goal." New goal will be used if you're starting from scratch. Existing goal may be applicable if you have a new employee joining the team and you want the goal to extend to them.
You can select applicable employees or extend to an organization you manage.
If a manager wants a goal to cascade to all members within the organization, select the organization you manage and select "Include Subordinate Organizations."
Step 3: Complete goal information.
Can select "Editable" if manager would like to give employees access to edit the goal.
Can select "Add" to create additional goals. This makes it easier to batch goals rather than a single entry.
Step 4: The business process is now complete. Goal should appear on applicable employee profiles. There is no additional action needed until there is an update to the goal.
Archive Goal
Step 1: In the UNI Works search bar, enter My Goals and select the report.
Step 2: You’ll see a menu with a button for “Bulk Update.” Click on the button and select “Archive or Unarchive Goals.”
Step 3: The Archive or Unarchive Goals Task will allow you to select any goals listed as “Active” and to set them into “Archived Status.” Likewise, any archived goals can be made active again by following the same steps in the table below.
Step 4: Once goals are either archived or unarchived, the request will be submitted to the Manager. The manager will have the choice to Approve, Send Back, or Deny the request. Why require manager approval? This allows a verification that the goal has been achieved and is ready for archival.
If “Approve” is selected, the goals will be archived.
Selecting “Send Back” will essentially restart the process, moving it back to the employee for edits, like unselecting a goal.
“Deny” will cancel the process all together.”
Step 7: The business process is now complete. Goal should appear on the “Archived Goals” tab. There is no additional action needed until there is an update to the goal.
