Overview
You can use this process to update or review your benefits during Open Enrollment.
Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review current benefit elections and make any changes for the upcoming calendar year. All updates will take effect January 1. A summary of what actions are allowed for each benefit is provided within the table below.
If you are satisfied with your current elections, no action is required.

Medical, Dental, Vision | Enroll, waive, change plan(s), add/remove dependents | If you previously elected a benefit and do not want to make changes, simply leave it as is. |
Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Care, Dependent Care) | Enroll, designate monthly contribution amount | Benefit is defaulted to Waive. You must Enroll to elect the contribution amount. |
Voluntary Term Life (Employee, Spouse, Child) | Enroll, waive, or change amount for employee or spouse | Employees can increase amount for themselves or a spouse by $20,000 without evidence of good health. |
Tax-Deferred Annuity (TDA) | Enroll, waive, or change monthly contribution amount | TDAs can be changed at any time during the year but is also included in Open Enrollment. |

Support
If you do not wish to make changes during Open Enrollment, no action is required. However, you will continue to receive reminders from the UNI Works system.
To stop receiving reminders, you may:
Click Let’s Get Started.
Select Review and Sign.
Check I accept.
Click Submit to close the event with no changes.
Step 1: Click the My Tasks icon, then click the Open Enrollment task.
Step 2: Click the Let's Get Started button.
Support
The system message “Choose new plans or re-enroll in the plans you currently have” could not be modified. UNI employees are not required to re-enroll in any plan except Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
Step 3: Click Manage or Enroll for each plan you'd like to make changes to.
Step 4: Choose Select or Waive by clicking the toggle button next to the benefit plan.
Reminder
Select means you are enrolling in a plan.
Waive means you are choosing NOT to enroll in a plan.
Step 5: Click the Confirm and Continue button.
Step 6: Adding dependent(s). If you do not need to add dependents, skip to Step 8.
Step 6.1: For new dependents, click the Add New Dependent button. If the dependent(s) you would like to add are already listed, check the box next to their name(s).
Step 6.2: If you would like to use the new dependent as a beneficiary, check the box next to Use as Beneficiary.
Step 6.3: Read all instructions carefully, then click the OK button.
Step 6.4: Fill out all required fields for the dependent, click the Add button to add National ID's (social security numbers).

Only choose Full-Time Student if the dependent is an unmarried, full-time student, who is older than age 26.
Step 6.5: Click the Save button.

If you have not yet verified your dependents, a task will appear in your inbox requiring you to submit dependent verification. Please follow the task instructions or refer to Verifying Dependents for Benefits Job Aid for guidance on submitting the required documentation.
If you prefer not to attach/upload your document(s) into UNI Works, you can bring the documentation into the Human Resource Services Office (GIL 027).
If additional dependents need to be added, repeat Steps 6.1-6.6.
Step 7: Click the Save button.
Step 8: After all changes have been made, click the Review and Sign button.
Step 9: Review your selection(s).
Step 10: If you haven’t done so, attach any required documentation.
Step 11: Read the Legal Notice.
Step 12: Check the I Accept box.
Step 13: Click the Submit button.
View the Status of the Request
All Open Enrollment requests will stay in submitted status until November 30. On December 1, all requests will be finalized and closed.
You can view the status of the business process request at any time by clicking on My Tasks > Archive > Open Enrollment Change.
