Overview
This job aid will assist with an employee submitting their own resignation in UNI Works. Using this UNI Works task will end all positions at the university.
Warning
Faculty and Staff who are resigning from the university, you must complete the following before submitting your resignation in UNI Works:
Review 4.18 Terminations & Terminal Vacation Pay university policy.
Outside of UNI Works, create and save a resignation letter, which can be securely attached during step 7 below.
Submit Resignation

Using this UNI Works task will end all active positions at the university. If you have multiple positions and wish to resign from only one position, please contact your manager and they will complete a separate transaction on your behalf.
Step 1: Click the Profile icon, then click the View Profile button.
Step 2: From the Employee Profile, click Actions > Job Change > Resign.
Step 3: In the Proposed Termination Date field, type or click the calendar icon to select the date you would like the termination to take effect.
Step 4: In the Reason for Resignation field, click the menu icon to select the appropriate option.
Step 5 (Optional): In the Additional Reason for Resignation field, click the menu icon to select any additional reasons.
Step 6 (Optional): In the Comment box, type any supporting information.
Warning
Comments will become part of your official documentation.
Step 7 (Required for Faculty & Staff): In the Attachments section, click the Select Files button to add your resignation letter.
Step 8: Click the Submit button.
What Happens Next
The resignation will route to your manager and the appropriate HR Partner for review and approval. You can view the status of the business process at any time by clicking on My Tasks > Archive > Process.
