Overview
This job aid details how to add, edit, or remove your education information in UNI Works.
The highest degree will be verified at the time of hire. All faculty are required to have official transcript(s) of all graduate work on file in the Office of the Executive Vice President & Provost. Faculty should request their official transcript(s) be either mailed to the Office of Executive Vice President & Provost, Seerley Hall 20, Cedar Falls, IA 50614-0707 or emailed to provost@uni.edu. For accreditation purposes, it is required that official transcripts be provided within 60 days of the hire date or degree obtainment.
Warning
e-Business Suite was set up to group degrees; therefore, when the education data was loaded into UNI Works, Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts was selected as the default. Carefully review your education information and make changes if needed.
Quick Links
Step 1: Click the Profile icon, then click the View Profile button.
Step 2: Click on Career. If Career is not visible, click More.
Step 3: Click the Education tab.
Step 4: Click the Add button.
Step 5: The Country field will auto-populate to United States of America.
Support
If the degree was obtained from a school outside of the United States, type or click the menu icon to select the correct country.
Step 6: In the School field, click the menu icon to select the appropriate option. To narrow the search, type a keyword in the search box.

If the school doesn't display, click the checkbox below the School field and type the name of the school manually. Type the School Name and School Location. Leave the School Type field blank.
Step 7: In the Degree field, click the menu icon to select your degree or the most comparable degree type from the available options.

If you cannot a relevant degree type, please contact hris-support@uni.edu.
Step 8: In the Degree Received field, click the dropdown arrow to select the appropriate option.

If you select ‘Yes,’ then you will be required to type the Year Degree Received.
Step 9: In the Field of Study field, click the menu icon to select your field of study or the most comparable option. To narrow the search, type a keyword in the search box.

If you cannot find a relevant field of study, please contact hris-support@uni.edu.
Step 10 (Optional): In the First Year Attended and Last Year Attended fields, type the year.
Step 11 (Optional): In the Grade Average field, type in your GPA.
Step 12: Click the Add button to add another degree.
Support
If you are adding multiple entries and need to cancel an entry, click the Remove button at the end of that entry.
Step 13: Click the Submit button.
What Happens Next
The request will route to HRS for review and approval that the degree has been awarded. Once the degree has been confirmed, it will appear on your profile. This information will be visible to your manager, those they report to, and key personnel within HRS and your division. You can view the status of the business process at any time by clicking on My Tasks > Archive > Process.

Step 4: In the Education table, click the Edit button next to the entry(s) you want to change.

If you clicked on the Edit button by mistake, click the X icon to cancel.
Step 5: Change the different education fields as needed for that entry, then click the Submit button.
What Happens Next
The request will route to HRS for review and approval that the degree has been awarded. Once the degree has been confirmed, it will appear on your profile. This information will be visible to your manager, those they report to, and key personnel within HRS and your division. You can view the status of the business process at any time by clicking on My Tasks > Archive > Process.
