Overview
This job aid provides instructions for a manager or their delegate to request a correction to an employee's Hire Date in UNI Works (the hire date represents the employee's first day of work).
Warning
This transaction should not be used if the student employee has already begun work.
Correct Worker Start Date
Step 1: Using the search bar, type Request Worker Start Date Correction and select the task.
Step 2: In the Worker field, type the employee’s name or click the menu icon to search and select the employee.
Step 3: In the Proposed Hire Date field, type or click the calendar icon to select a later date than the Current Hire Date.
Step 4 (Optional): In the Comment field, type any supporting information.
Step 5: Click the Submit button.
What Happens Next
The request will route for review and approval. Once approved, the employee's new start date is immediately updated in UNI Works. You can view the status of the business process at any time by clicking on My Tasks > Archive > Process.
Warning - Impact to I-9
Per US Citizen & Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations/guidelines, all new employees must complete the Form I-9 form no later than the first day of employment, and must present required, original document(s), for us to view and copy within three (3) business days of the date employment begins.
