Overview
This guide will explain some of the most common applications in UNI Works and how different positions can use them. To add or remove apps, refer to the Tools & Navigation guide.
Employees will find direct links to the IT Service Hub, the OBO Hub, and UNI Works training resources.
All Employees
This app provides a single access point for employees to navigate to all absence and time tracking tasks. absence requests, accrual balances, time tracking, and scheduling tasks. Employees can view, request, and correct absence requests; view accrual balances; and enter, review, and submit time.
Hourly employees whose departments utilize scheduling will also be able to set their schedule preferences and work availability, and view open shifts.
Timekeepers and managers can use this app to enter time and absences for other employees in their cost center(s) and view their team's schedule.
Student employees not using a physical time clock will use the Time Clock feature to clock in and out.
Employees can view their salary and benefits from this app. Within this app, employees can update their beneficiaries, review and update their tax withholdings and deductions, and view their compensation history. During open enrollment, employees will be able to update or change their benefits and dependents in this app. Employees will also use this app to view their pay slips and tax documents, update their direct deposit information and withholding elections.
This hub shows open positions at the university and allows current employees to set job opening alerts and monitor any applications that have been submitted. This will replace Jobs@UNI.
This app will house training courses for on-campus processes like cash handling, search committee participation, and will replace the Blackboard Learning platform for staff and faculty training.
This app will allow employees to update contact information for themselves and their emergency contacts, as well as name and title changes, name pronunciation, and social networks.
Employees can update their skills and career interests from this app, review feedback received, as well as set goals and job alerts for internal positions.
Managers
Frontline managers use this app to quickly access Time Tracking, UNI Works Scheduling, Absence Management, and tasks and reports.
Timekeepers can use this app to review and edit time entries and absences for their cost center(s).
Scheduling partners will use this app to create schedules for their cost center(s) and review the team absence calendar.
Managers will use this app to review, edit, and approve time entries and absences for their cost center(s). They can also view their team absence calendar and analytic reports.
Managers will use this hub to initiate job changes for their direct reports, conduct search processes for student positions, and view their team members. Used for the hire process but not day-to-day timekeeping tasks.
This screen serves as the starting point for creating an employee job requisition and provides an overview of past and current employee searches and analytical data.
This app contains customizable reports related to student employees within a supervisory organization, including reported time, work-study eligibility, and upcoming employment end dates.
This provides access to the goals and reviews of all employees in a cost center and allows managers to set performance goals for individuals and the team
Provides quick access to position information for the organization. Not intended for day-to-day timekeeping tasks.
Managers can access time-related tasks for all direct reports.
Cost Center Financial Operations Users
This app provides quick access to cost center financial information, such as transaction detail reports and account summaries. Tasks for journal and costing allocations are located in the Reports/Tasks tab.
Cost Center Business Operations Users
The functions within this app include review of customers, any payments or deposits made on invoices, receivables reporting, and write-offs and adjustments.
This app allows easy access to reports for travel expenses, spend authorizations, and expenses. Users can run reports by different worktags including cost center, fund, and grant.
This is the preferred app to use when making a purchase. Employees can view requisitions made and their status, create a punchout order, and submit a non-catalog request.
