Account Provisioning
Blackboard user accounts are automatically created for individuals who meet the following criteria:
Students

Registered for an upcoming semester
Enrolled with an I (Incomplete) or RC (Research or Course Continued) grade
Enrolled in a class that has started but not yet ended
Enrolled in a semester or class that ended within the last 120 days

Account Deprovisioning
On May 23, 2024, UNI implemented a process to deprovision Blackboard user accounts for individuals who no longer meet the provisioning criteria listed above. When a Blackboard user account is deprovisioned, it is marked as “Unavailable”, preventing the user from logging into UNI’s Blackboard system.

Students are removed from the provisioning view and their user account deprovisioned from Blackboard under the following conditions:
90 days after receiving a degree from UNI
120 days after the last semester or class they were enrolled in (if no degree was awarded)
Two weeks after withdrawing from all courses

Employees
Employees are removed from the provisioning view and their user account deprovisioned from Blackboard as follows:
Faculty: 90 days after their termination date
Staff: At the end of their termination date
