How do I edit or disable AI Summarizations and AI Chapters

Beginning in the Fall 2025 semester, all Panopto recordings have an AI Summarization and AI Chapters. If the summarization doesn’t accurately reflect your recording or if you do not want students to have access, you can either edit the Summarizations and Chapters or disable them from all of your recordings within a folder by following these directions.

To edit a Summarization or Chapter

  1. Access the Panopto Recording.

  2. If you are accessing the recording through Ultra you may need to click on the Watch in Panopto Icon.

  5. Make all necessary changes within the Key Points and the Summary and then click the Apply icon in the Upper right hand corner to save the changes.

To Disable an AI Summarization or Chapters

This will only impact all future recordings and not older recordings in a given Panopto folder. If you want to disable the AI Summarization on an existing recording, you can edit all of the data out of that summarization by following the previous steps.

  1. Access the Panopto Recording.

  2. If you are accessing the recording through Ultra you may need to click on the Watch in Panopto Icon.
