Make your Course 'Unavailable' to Students
Manage Course Access (Previously Course Availability)
You can manage course access by clicking the three dots to the right of the Course Card for your course and selecting Course settings (This is available in list view as well by clicking on the three dots to the right of the name of the course.) You can also access these options by clicking on the Course Settings link located in the upper right hand corner of any course.
or
Once the Course settings panel is open, under the Course Access section, click on the checkbox next to Closed - override course duration. Under Mark Course Complete, click on the slider checkbox next to No changes can be made by students or instructors.
IMPORTANT: Once your course has concluded, it is best practice and strongly recommended that you do not make any additional edits to the course. You can do this by activating the Mark Course Complete option.
Close Course: When the course has been made unavailable, it continues to appear in the course listing, but students cannot access it.
Complete Course: When the course is completed, students can access the content but cannot participate. Additionally, you can no longer make any changes once a course is completed.
Blackboard Instructors control the "Availability" of their course(s) for student access. Please consider leaving your course(s) available to students for a few weeks after the semester concludes to allow students access to their 'My Grades' tool and grade-related materials. Once you decide that students no longer need access to your course(s), you should first communicate to your students that the course will no longer be available and then Close the course and/or Mark Course Complete.
