FileLocker

FileLocker

FileLocker is a web based service that allows you to securely share files between individuals both within and outside of UNI.  Files are stored temporarily and are eventually removed automatically.

FileLocker is not meant for long-term storage of files. It is intended for ad hoc exchange of confidential files or information. If your need is for repeated transfer of university data to or from an outside entity, you should contact Service Hub for guidance.

How to Access FileLocker

  1. In a web browser, travel to https://filelocker.uni.edu

  2. Log in with your CatID user name and password

  3. You should arrive to a page that looks like this:

How to Upload a File

  2. When the pop-up box appears, you can either select to share with a user by searching for them or share with a group by selecting the "Share with Groups" tab.

  3. If sharing with a single user, simply type their username into the box. After a few characters have been entered, a drop-down selection box will appear with matching results so that you can select the correct user. You may also search for a user by clicking the "Name" box and typing in the user's full name, or last name.

    1. If sharing with a group, you must first create a group and add members to it. Then, click the "Share with Groups" tab and simply click the 'share' button.

  4. When sharing with either a single user or a group, you may select the checkbox to notify the user(s) via email so that they know you have shared a file.

  5. Finally, for single-user sharing, click the "Share" button next to the user.
