Connecting to a network share in macOS
This article will outline the steps needed to connect to a network share from the macOS platform.
If you are connecting from off campus you will need to establish a VPN connection first.
With Finder active, click Go > Connect to Server (or press command + K)
Enter the server name and share name you wish to connect to. Click the + sign to add the address to the Favorites list so you don't have to type in the path in the future. Click Connect.
If you are unsure of your server name and/or share name contact your IT support team.You may be prompted to click Connect once more. After doing so, a Finder window should come up with the network folder you just connected to.
Depending on your computer configuration, there may also be a shortcut on your desktop to the network share
Repeat steps 1-4 to connect to additional network shares
