How to copy content items (Original or Ultra) to an Ultra course

NOTE: Unlike Blackboard Original courses, in Ultra Learn you have to be in the new course where you want to add content.

Please note, Blackboard calls this process "granular course copy".

1- In the new course, decide where the content you are copying over is going to be located. Hover over and when the plus sign appears in the center, click on it:

2- Choose 'Copy Content' from the menu:

3- You may want to increase the number of 'items per page' if you have a long list of courses, to locate the course. By default it is set to 10, but you can select 50, 100, etc... Otherwise, you may navigate through all the pages if that's your preference:

4- Once you find the course that has the content you are looking for, click on the arrow on the right hand side of it to view the content in the course in a more granular level.

WARNING: Do NOT select the whole course if you are copying from Blackboard Original to Blackboard Ultra. Whole course copies should only occur from Ultra to Ultra.

Supported Content Types

  • Learning Modules (be careful, as it may copy TOO much)

  • Folders  (be careful, as it may copy TOO much)

  • Documents

  • Tests, including group tests

  • Assignments, including group assignments

  • Linked to websites

  • SCORM packages

  • Discussions and Journals

5- Now you are able to see Folders, Modules, any single items, Test Question Banks, or the Rubrics you have in that course. Click on the folder to see the individual items in the course that you would like to copy. From there, check and verify on the right that the items that you want to copy are selected.

6- After you select all the materials you want, click the 'Start Copy' button on the lower right corner:

GOOD NEWS! Using Ultra, now you are able to copy graded items, as well, individually. (This option was not possible in the Original version!)

7- The copying process starts and you would see the progress icon on the bottom of the page. The item(s) you copied should appear on the page in a few seconds.
