How to install and use the Microsoft Editor extension
Across social media, email, and documents, Microsoft Editor helps you check your spelling and grammar and polish your writing style. Use Editor in Outlook, Gmail, LinkedIn, Word (Microsoft 365) and others.
Install Microsoft Editor in Google Chrome:
Go to the Microsoft Editor page in Extensions.
Select the blue "Add to Chrome" button in the top right of the page.
Select "Add extension"
You may need to sign into your Microsoft account.
You can pin the extension onto your toolbar.Select the Microsoft Editor icon:
Toggle on/off your preferences on what you want to use Editor on: Spelling, Grammar and/or Refinements (Refinements makes suggestions for refining your writing, like addressing passive voice or wordiness):
For settings other than Spelling, Grammar or Refinements, select the gear icon:
Editor will underline spelling errors in red and grammar in blue. Left click on the error and suggestions will come up. You can choose a suggestion, or ignore.
In Microsoft Edge:
Go to the Microsoft Editor page in Edge's Add-ons.
Select "Get":
Select "Add extension"
You may need to sign into your Microsoft account.

In both browser extensions, the gear icon shows settings for clarity, conciseness, formality, inclusiveness, punctuation, resume, sensitive geopolitical references and vocabulary. These can be toggled on and off.
