How to Synchronize Your Passwords Using Apple Single Sign-On
Apple's Single Sign-On extension allows any single-user UNI-managed device running macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later to sign in using CatID login information. When you change your CatID password, the computer password does NOT automatically change at the same time.
To synchronize your computer password with your CatID password:
You will log in to the computer using your local ID (which should be the same name as your CatID) and your previous password or the temporary password provided.
Connect to UNI's network, if you are not already connected (i.e. a wired on-campus connection, connecting to eduroam, or connecting to a VPN using Cisco Secure Client)
A window will appear asking you to log in to AD.UNI.EDU with your CatID and its password. This is your current CatID password, not your previous or temporary password.
If one of the above dialogue boxes does not automatically appear, click on the key icon in the your Menu Bar and select "Sign In"You might be asked if you would like to automatically sign in from now on. Click Yes.
This is NOT a setting for logging you into the computer automatically–it deals with the extension automatically connecting with your CatID when you log-in.You will be asked to enter your current CatID Password and your local account password (either previous or temporary) which was used in step 1.
You will be notified that the passwords have been synced to your CatID password
