Zoom.us Closed Captioning and Transcription

Zoom.us Closed Captioning and Transcription

There are 2 functions. If you want LIVE transcription, you do not need to record to the cloud. You have to enable CC and live transcription in your Zoom profile.

For CC transcript + recording, you will need to use cloud recording. We are asking users to not keep recordings in Zoom for more than a month.

To enable the closed captioning for your own use:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/207279736-Closed-captioning-and-live-transcription

Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
In the navigation panel, click Settings.
Click the Meeting tab.
Verify that Closed Caption is enabled.
If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog displays, click Turn On to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
With Closed Captioning enabled, the option to enable live transcription should appear directly below as Enable live transcription service to show transcript on the side panel in-meeting. Check this to enable live transcription.
