CatID: Username and Password for UNI

What is my CatID?

Your CatID is the combination of your username and password used for systems authenticated through UNI’s CatID log in page. The CatID logo is your clue to use this username/password combination to log in:

What is my username?

Your username is the unique 3-8 character account name that identifies you as a member of the UNI community. For students, your username is the portion before the @ sign in your UNI email address.

Students and staff have one opportunity to change the system-generated username you were assigned. If you haven't done so already, you may select a different username.

What is my CatID password?

If you are logging in for the first time as a new user, your initial password is as follows:

The format is panthersxxxmmmdd

  • xxx is the last three (3) digits of your University ID#

  • mmm is the first three letters of your birth month

  • dd is the 2 digit number of your birth day)

Example: panthers456nov23 (all lower case)

Your new password must be at least 15 characters long, see the password requirements for a complete listing.

How do I change my CatID password?

Go to the change password app and enter your login and current password. Select a new password and enter it again to verify that you have typed it correctly. See the password requirements for a complete listing or rules.

I've forgotten my password. Now what do I do?

If you can't remember your CatID password, you will need to contact the IT Service Desk to request your password be reset. Staff in the Service Desk will request information from you to confirm your identity. Your password will be reset and you will be required to change your password the first time you log in.
